Note for Visa Applicants and Travelers to the U.S. From Egypt via Europe

Note for Visa Applicants and Travelers to the U.S. From Egypt via Europe:

Visa and Travel Restrictions from or via the Schengen Area

On March 11, 2020, the President signed a proclamation suspending the entry into the United States of any foreign nationals who were present in the 26 European countries comprising the Schengen Area during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States.

If a consular officer determines a visa applicant will have been in the Schengen Area within the 14 days immediately preceding the planned or actual travel to the United States, the consular officer will refuse the visa application unless one of the exceptions in the Presidential Proclamation applies.

Any foreign national who transits an airport (even without leaving the airport) in any of the 26 countries listed in the Proclamation will be subject to the entry restrictions set forth in this Proclamation.

For further details, see the full text of the Presidential Proclamation here.
