A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Evyenia Sidereas joined the State Department in 1999. She previously served as an economic officer at U.S. Embassy Cairo from 2007-2009. Ms. Sidereas served most recently as the Chargé d’affaires ad interim at the U.S. Embassy in Doha, the State Department Director for Arabian Peninsula Affairs, Gulf Director at the National Security Council, and as Political Minister-Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.

A native of Chicago, Ms. Sidereas attended DePaul University and the London School of Economics. She speaks Greek, Arabic, and German.
