January 25, 2015 (Sunday) is a national holiday to commemorate Police Day and is the anniversary of Egypt’s 2011 revolution. Gathering locations in Cairo, to include Tahrir Square, Raba’a al-Adawiya Square, Nadha Square, and perhaps areas in and around government institutions, may attract groups both in celebration and in protest, creating a heightened risk of violence. The Government of Egypt is expected to deploy additional security forces, including military personnel, throughout the country as a precaution.
