Cairo – Thousands of young men and women engaged with Egyptian and international companies at a job fair held today in downtown Cairo. Held at the Greek Campus and organized with support from the U.S. Embassy, the job fair helped match job-seekers with companies looking to fill over 4,000 job vacancies.
Over sixty Egyptian, U.S. and international companies participated in the recruitment event, including Microsoft, Mobinil, and BMW. Corporate representatives at the fair encouraged the attendees to apply for positions in management, marketing, engineering, and other professional fields.
Sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and organized by JobNile, an Alexandria-based Human Resources and Recruitment company, this is the second year of the job fair. According to JobNile, the companies present at last year’s job fair hired approximately 1,500 professionals they met at the event.
U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft toured the fair today and met some of the participants. “I was happy to talk to the company representatives who are hiring and the many young, well-educated Egyptians who are looking for career opportunities,” said Ambassador Beecroft. “By sponsoring today’s event, our Embassy is helping introduce hundreds of university graduates to major Egyptian and multinational companies that need talented employees.”
NileJob’s annual job fair in Cairo is a public/private initiative that began in 2015 through the efforts of former Egyptian participants in U.S. exchange programs.
