U.S. Embassy-Sponsored Job Fair Attracts Thousands

Cairo-An estimated 10,000 young men and women attended a day-long Job Fair sponsored by the U.S. Embassy at the Greek Campus in downtown Cairo on February 28.

The fair offered attendees an opportunity to apply and compete for over 4,000 job vacancies with Egyptian, U.S., and multinational companies. It also addressed the interest of university students in internships and volunteer opportunities to gain critical work, sales, and office experience. Over 8,000 jobseekers registered in advance for the event, making it one of the largest fairs of its kind in Egypt since 2011. The Fair was organized in partnership with Job Nile Recruitment and HR Consultancy.

Touring the crowded information booths and greeting participants of all ages and backgrounds, U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft noted, “I was impressed to see the diversity of job opportunities and the exceptional caliber, talent, and qualifications of the young Egyptians in attendance. It was great to see the involvement of alumni from U.S. Government exchange programs, many of whom were representing participating companies or helped organize the event.”

More than 50 companies, organizations, and training institutions participated in the fair, offering employment opportunities in fields critical to Egypt’s economic development, such as engineering, finance, and medicine. The fair provided workshops and training sessions to improve important skills for jobseekers, such as interviewing skills and resume writing.
